Brahma Kalasha

Urwa Shri Mariamma Temple, situated in the heart city of Mangalore is one of the most ancient temples of Mangalore. The presiding deity of this powerful temple is Goddess Mariamma. The temple is known far and wide not only in Karnataka but also outside of the state.

In an astrological ritual (Prashna-Chintan) performed about this holy and powerful abode, it was directed that Brahma Kalasa ritual has to be conducted before the annual festival. Accordingly, it was decided by the temple administration to be conducted Brahma Kalashotsava (A religious ceremony to renovate the temple) in the month of February 2024 just before the annual festival. A committee ot oversee the preparations for this ritual has already been formed.

Dear devotees, on account of Brahma Kalashotsava, the sanctum sanctorum needs to be renovated and also other pooja assets have to be renewed. The construction work of a modern convention center at the premises of the temple is gathering speed and likely to be opened for public functions from January 2024. All of these developmental work and rituals entails a total expenditure of about Rs.8 crore.
